    Lightbulb WDW2014: World Ducati 'Week' 2014 - 18/19/20 July

Just in case anyone had not seen the announced dates...

    NOTE - JULY

Seems the event has reduced from 4 days down to 3 now but at least its happening!

The WDW2014 facebook page is apparently Ducati's chosen prime update tool:

I'm hoping to go for two weeks this year with the event being a main attraction along with a visit to the factory / museum in some way.

    Planning is fun
    Cheers - Frank

Would love to go this year, but once again I think work will screw it. Looks like wdw stands for world Ducati weekend this time.

If you travel on the Swiss motorways you have to purchase a Swiss Vignette which costs about 30quid other wise you run the risk of a 100euro fine plus the 30quid and believe you me the gnomes are shit hot on spotting if you don't have one on display.
It may seem alittle costly but once its paid thats it, were as France, Austria and Italy have tolls which can be the sting in the tail and all the stopping at the pay booths really pisses me off.
If any of you guys need help planning your trip to Misano PM me and I'll try to help, this year will be my 4th time of attending WDW, the 1st year (2007) I drove a dealers van which got me thinking about buying my own van which I did and haven't looked back as it takes me on holiday to places there's no way that I could ride my bike and last year my other half rode pillion for the first time in 20+ years but that was to keep cool as it did get slightly warm!!

Thanks for the explanation Geoff, I didn't realise that.
It's a long time since I've ridden in Switzerland (1989) and there was nothing like that then - or at least, nothing that I knew about . . .

Yes thanks Frank - most enlightening, although I have no intention of riding through Switzerland, a drive to Italy is a possiblity, which may then lead to passing through some of Switzerland. I also believe that they have the highest gun ownership figures per capita in the World.
