In all the searches I've done on the colour code topic, I have eo say that I've found there to be many discrepancies, and much conflicting information on the topic.

It's a very tricky customer to nail down........

Thats primarily why I went direct to Palini, as I knew the match would be spot on. The gold on the 1098R wheels is a tricky one as it has a chromate in it which gives it a faint silvery hue, unlike Marchesini's paint which is much bolder and more yellow in colour.

I am half Italian as well which helped make sense of what they were explaining to me when I phoned them up!!

    Re: Ducati Paint Codes

i had some pait work done on my 2000 748s,they used a colour match computer, inside under lights its a great match, however they hadn't thought what it be like outside in daylight and when we looked it was an awfull match.

So where could i get a good match then?,never been able to find anyone here in the uk,and i dont want to have to get the whole bike redone.

The company is actually owned be PPG industries (formerly owned by Unipart)

When I spoke to PPG a couple of years ago, they told me that when you ask for the paint at Brown Brothers, upon quoting the colour code, you MUST tell them it is for a Ducati motorcycle.

If I ever need paint for my bikes, this is the approach I would take here in the uk.

Only red on Bostrom rep is anniverasry red, the whole tank/fairing setup is just a basic red piece sprayed over with a couple of different blues and some white. Looks great (if you like that sort of thing) but not really very sofisticated just like some of the owners.

    Re: Ducati Paint Codes

Can anyone help me? I have a monster 1000 which is painted orange, the same orange as the s4r (racing orange I believe), by it's previous owner. There are a few little scratches on the front fender which I want to fill, but no dealer seems to know the paint code. Does anyone know the colour code that I need?

    Kind regards

Thank you, did ducati use this colour earlier? My bike was painted this colour in 2003/2004.
